A note about Covid-19 and Wood Smoke Cottage

Our cottage is located down a small walking route, 3km outside the village of Ballyvaughan. It is isolated and very peaceful. Our home is onsite, but completely separated from the cottage by the hazel woods and high stone walls, 30 metres away. You have your own driveway, parking area, deck, fire pit and the hot tub and sauna is entirely reserved for your use during your stay. As always, the cottage is cleaned thoroughly, and then completely sanitized between each letting. All touchpoints are sanitized again before we walk out the door. We don’t enter the cottage again until after your departure.  We also provide antibacterial wipes, spray and lots of soap for you to use during your stay. There is an antibacterial lotion dispenser by the front and back door to use on entry and departure. We wash all linen between use at recommended temperatures. We also remove blankets/cushions after each guest (we have doubles!). Of course, each guest has their own set of towels. When you are leaving, we ask that you strip the bed completely and place all of the linen and towels into the plastic bags provided, wipe down the counters and touchpoints and empty your bins (details on the fridge).

The hot tub and sauna are also completely cleaned, sterilized and heated fresh for each booking. During your stay, you may find John out by the hot tub stove (gloved and masked!) getting it ready for the evening – he will of course wipe down all touch points and sterlize the hot tub and sauna again.

You can walk out the door and down a walking route or head up the mountains in a matter of minutes. Two beaches are a short drive away and are lovely to blow the cobwebs away! We can also provide bikes should you wish to explore the area further.

Our cottage is really a lovely place to get away from the constant media and panic (although we have high speed wifi!). You can isolate yourselves in peace of mind and comfort.
