Wood Smoke Eco Ethos
We are lucky to live in a very unique area in the world. With that in mind, we are trying our very best to respect the area in which we live.
We have solar panels that help provide hot water supply, rain-water recycling (you will be using rainwater entirely during your stay with us), food digester bins, compost bins, peat filtration sewage system, wood-fired stoves and eco-friendly cleaning materials.
Even our planting is designed with bees and butterflies in mind – we are very fortunate to have a lively population of bees and butterflies populating our property. A delightful experiment with our driveway lawn last year which allowed nature to take her course, resulted in a gorgeous swathe of tall grasses and wildflowers, and so we have decided to continue not mowing but just give a gentle tidy here and there.
We are currently working on providing raised vegetable beds for our guests to enjoy and hope to have our little beehive buzzing in the coming months.
